Did You Know That:
- Zakat is compulsory, not voluntary, when you have reached the nisab.
- 2.5% is the Zakat payable when savings reach the nisab (value of 595g of silver, ~₦900,000, subject to change).
- There is special favour of Allah for Zakat payers (Qur'an 7:156).
- 2.5% is the Zakat payable on rental incomes upon receipt.
- 2.5% is payable on earned incomes that reach nisab upon receipt.
- 2.5% is payable annually on gold kept for appreciation and commercial purposes.
- 10% Zakat on agricultural produce (or 5% for artificial irrigation) is payable when it reaches the nisab of 612kg.
